1499 — BT Contact Central launches fully hosted freedom of information solution

BT Contact Central, in conjunction with Siebel Systems and Princeton Consulting, has developed a pay-as-you go solution to help public bodies comply with the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.

Under the brand name of Contact Central OnDemand FOI , it is powered by Siebel CRM OnDemand, and promises to provide support for all FOI request tracking and reporting requirements.

The underlying implications of the Freedom of Information Act for public bodies are immense. All government organisations will have to log and receipt each request, validate whether it must be answered, assign it to an individual who can respond, retrieve the relevant information, issue the response, manage the financial charges and track all correspondence. All this, within just 20 working days. In addition to this actually dealing with the request, all bodies must also be able to handle appeals and corrections and report on the type and number of requests made. This is a huge challenge for government authorities and one which CCOD FOI can address“, remarked Paul White, CEO of BT Contact Central .
