Jun 6, 2005 | Conteúdos Em Ingles

Alcatel has been selected by Auna, an operator in Spain, as its IP Triple Play turnkey project integrator, and as the supplier for most essential network components and service delivery platforms.

Alcatel’s IP Triple Play solution enables an extensive multimedia offering over broadband networks, based on either DSL or HFC technology.

The Alcatel solution for IP Triple Play enables service providers to offer a combination of multimedia services over IP, for both corporate and residential customers. The range of services include Voice over IP, high speed Internet access and video services over IP. These include digital TV, video on demand; pay TV, digital TV program guide, and a network-based video recorder. Customers can also access communication services from a TV set, such as instant messaging, Internet access and video videogames.

Along with the DSL access network, Alcatel will deploy its MPLS metropolitan aggregation network solution for AUNA .

Alcatel will integrate the softswitch-based VoIP solution, which enables a fast deployment on existing platforms. As in other major IPTV contracts around the world, Alcatel will act as overall systems integrator, managing the overall project and being responsible for integrating the network management aspects from other supplier’s equipment.

Alfredo Redondo, President of Alcatel for Iberia and Latin America stated that Alcatel is “extremely proud of being selected by AUNA and thus now have the chance to participate in the imminent consolidation of Spain’s multimedia market. This project reinforces our leadership in IP and broadband access infrastructure, takes advantage of our vast experience in the end-to-end integration of commercial Triple Play projects and supports our vision of a convergent, user-centric broadband multimedia world”.
