GlobalWare AG, a language technology provider, has taken over the control of GEDYS-DISKUS and Gedys Internet Products NV located in Den Haag. The companies involved agreed to maintain silence regarding purchase prices. GEDYS-DISKUS was a wholly owned subsidiary of GEDYS AG, Braunschweig. As a result of the takeover, GEDYS-DISKUS will be split in the near future into a division for IBM/Lotus applications and another for language technology. The business division for IBM/Lotus will operate under the name of GEDYS IntraWare UK.
The business division for language technology will operate under the name of GlobalWare UK and will be responsible for the sale of the language technology products of GlobalWare AG. At the same time, GlobalWare AG will be located near Manchester which, together with Leeds and Sheffield, forms an important centre of UK HLT R&D.
