Sep 18, 2003 | Conteúdos Em Ingles

The mobile operator E-Plus has commissioned Siemens’ mobile communication sector – Siemens mobile – to expand its GSM/GPRS mobile network in Germany. The order is worth a two-digit million euro amount and will run for two years. Siemens mobile will install complementary GSM base stations and necessary components to offer GPRS services. The expansion of the existing network will increase E-Plus’ network capacity and complete overall coverage.

Through this network expansion the subsidiary of the Dutch operator company KPN is laying the necessary foundation to offer its constantly growing number of customers, in particular its growing number of business customers, a high-quality connection.

Siemens mobile and E-Plus have been working together since 1996 on the basis of a framework contract. The framework contract has now been extended until 2013. With a base of 193.000 users (status end of June 2003) E-Plus is the only German operator to offer i-mode services. Siemens mobile also supplies the models S55i and M55i for the i-mode data service offered by E-Plus.
