1266 — Ericsson signs GSM/GPRS expansion contract in China

Ericsson has announced it has signed a GSM/GPRS expansion contract with Jiangsu Mobile Communication, estimated to be valued in 58 million USD. Under the terms of this expansion contract, Ericsson will provide Jiangsu Mobile with infrastructure solutions and engineering service, network support, network optimization, technical and management training. 
 

This project also includes equipment that supports the latest version of GPRS and EDGE, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2004. Ericsson will supply its equipment by Nanjing Ericsson Panda Communications Company, company’s largest joint venture in China and one of its global supply hubs for the Asia-Pacific region.

This agreement extends Ericsson and Jiantsu Mobile strategic partnership started in 1992.
