Vonage, the leading broadband telephony provider, announced it has exceeded 500,000 total lines in service on its network, doubling its growth rate, an industry first, with the addition of more than 15,000 lines per week up 50% from the 4th quarter.

‘In a very short time, we’ve proved that 2005 is the year of mass adoption for VoIP services, Vonage as the market bellwether has capitalized on this nascent trend,’ said Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman and CEO of Vonage Holdings Corp. ‘The exponential growth is real: there is no question as to whether VoIP or Vonage is here to stay.’

‘As more and more consumers demand better value for their communications dollars, we get closer and closer to the tipping point of this industry,’ added Citron. ‘With demand up nearly 50% from the last quarter, Vonage continues to demonstrate the viability of its flat-rate, full-featured calling plans, as the company is now adding 15,000 lines per week .’
