1290 — PepsiCo chooses SAP to optimise operations

PepsiCo turned public its decision to implement mySAP Business Suite, in an attempt, to provide the primary business platform capable of unify operations, standardize processes and increase efficiency, and competitiveness across its divisions. The time frame of this project is multiyear.
 

Among the global brands manufactured and distributed by PepsiCo, we can find Frito-Lay snacks, Pepsi-Cola beverages, Gatorade sports drinks, Tropicana juices and Quaker foods.

PepsiCo has explained that while deciding for a business solutions provider, took in consideration its ability to provide common enterprise visibility and operations while meeting the industry-specific needs of its diverse divisions. Therefore by choosing SAP, the Company expects to be able to streamline distribution and delivery, improve planning and forecasting, increase information transparency and link supply chain and inventory with customer-facing activities in a single, integrated process. Indra K. Nooyi, president and chief financial officer, pointed that “SAP is a well-respected provider to consumer products companies and offers us integrated technology and industry expertise to lower our cost of technology ownership and achieve our goals for growth and organizational efficiency”.
