Volantis Systems, a UK supplier of presentation management software solutions for the multi-channel internet, has announced the successful deployment of its Mariner application at Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM).
Volantis Mariner is used as the delivery platform for TIM’s Mobile Corporate Portal that provides service to their 10,000 employees and will be extended to provide extranet services to the operator’s dealer network.
“Volantis is helping us to create innovative wireless solutions which improve productivity and efficiency, provide empowerment and satisfaction for our employees and improve inter-departmental processes and integration,” noted Marcello Fausti, vice president of E-Company Activities at TIM.

TIM’s Mobile Corporate Portal includes employee intranet services for personalised workspace, loyalty, corporate news, community, messaging (email, SMS, MMS) e-learning, knowledge management and self-service. Volantis Mariner will allow access to these applications via web, PDA, WAP and voice.
