972 — Hydratight tightens transatlantic operations with BT deployed IP solution

Dec 3, 2003 | Conteúdos Em Ingles

BT today announced the decision by Hydratight Sweeney, a manufacturer of bolt tightening equipment, to implement a converged infrastructure based on Nortel Networks’ Succession IP product offering. The solution went live in August 2003, and has been installed in the UK as part of a global programme to modernise the organisation’s communications systems, combining voice, video and data networks.

Part of the Waukesha Bearings Corporation, Hydratight Sweeney opted for a Succession 1000, server-based, full-featured IP PBX. The solution will serve its two Walsall sites, incorporating Nortel Networks i2002 IP telephones and Nortel Networks Baystack 460 Ethernet switches.

A scalable solution was selected, the Succession 1000 supports up to 1000 users per call server, up to 10,000 users per system and a full range of advanced IP applications including Nortel Networks Call Pilot Unified Messaging, which brings together voice mail, e-mail and faxes to create ‘one stop’ personal communications management together with Nortel Networks Symposium contact centre solution.

The solution also comprises BayStack 460-24T-PWR Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches with Quality of Service (QoS) to provide flexible queuing priority for delay sensitive applications such as voice.
