Jan 7, 2004 | Conteúdos Em Ingles

Babel Technologies and Elan Speech today announced the merger of their companies and all of their activities. Entirely dedicated to the development and commercialisation of new natural language interfaces for strong value added services, the group will enable customers to create new ways of conversing and interacting with their clients. Customers will have access to a product range covering 23 languages through diversified vertical markets. Merger details were not disclosed.

By joining forces, the two companies aim at reinforcing their know-how, combining their sales forces, client portfolios and geographical locations to become the only European player of its kind: in Sweden via Babel-Infovox, in Belgium via Babel Technologies and in France via Elan Speech.

“This merger will present the market with a new and strong global player, based in Europe, whose strengths are a very wide product and language portfolio able to meet the various market demands” explains Vincent Fontaine, CEO of Babel Technologies.

The objective of the new structure is to take a global approach to complex and multilingual projects. A wide geographical presence, in particular, will allow the new group to adapt to regional language constraints. The new group, whose name will be revealed shortly, will be managed by a team of three: Vincent Fontaine, CEO of Babel Technologies in coordination with Antoine Kauffeisen, CEO of Elan Speech and Lars-Erik Larsson, CEO of Babel-Infovox.

The group’s offer will cover 23 languages, including UK and US English, German, Dutch French, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Swedish and Norwegian.
