Brooktrout Technology, a supplier of call control products announced new low-density versions of its TR1000 voice platform targeted at developers of enterprise voice applications. Brooktrout’s TR1000 now includes new analog and ISDN basic rate interface (BRI) versions along with existing T1/E1 versions—a full range of configurations for customers developing interactive voice response (IVR), automatic speech recognition (ASR), voice mail and unified messaging applications. TR1000 also includes enhanced call control and additional operating system support.

With the addition of analog and BRI versions, Brooktrout delivers a product line that scales from two to 60 channels per board, and up to 240 channels per system. All TR1000 models share one application programming interface (API) that allows vendors to eliminate redundant development and to deploy a single program executable.

In addition, the TR1000 offers a call control syntax that abstracts different forms of PSTN call control. The TR1000 features Windows Plug and Play compliance and graphical installation tools.

The TR1000 is compliant with standards-based APIs such as VoiceXML and SALT. The programme is being integrated with a list of speech technologies and platforms including VoiceGenie’s VoiceXML Gateway.

The TR1000 platform now includes two and four channel BRI versions, four and eight channel analog versions, and 24, 30, 48 and 60 channel T1/E1 versions. For smaller installations, analog lines are still prevalent throughout the Americas and much of Asia, while BRI is most common in Europe and Japan. For larger installations, T1 and E1 are the preferred interfaces.
