BEA Systems has released a set of free packaged and open-source controls, under the name of BEA WebLogic Workshop Control Pack. Through this new offer, BEA expects to help developers to easily tap into the Web services capabilities of the Amazon, eBay, Federal Express, Google, PayPal and UPS platforms.

Randy Ching, Vice President of Platform Solutions for eBay noted that by “using BEA WebLogic Workshop, eBay and PayPal developers should be able to easily develop customized applications and services that make it faster and easier for eBay users to sell, buy and pay than ever before”.

BEA Systems emphasised that by being based on the award-winning BEA WebLogic Workshop, this set allows developers without expertise in complex low-level programming to achieve robust levels of functionality in their applications and solutions via simple drag-and-drop approach.
