The text and voice infrastructure supplier, Telsis, has announced it has added interoperability with Siemens core network switches to its Ocean fastSCP intelligent services platform.
According to Telsis this move means network operators with single vendor or multi vendor networks based on Ericsson, Nokia and now Siemens switches can easily and seamlessly roll out identical services to all their subscribers, irrespective of which vendors switch they are connected to.
The Company said that the Customers of Germanys independent, locally operating telco EWE TEL will be the first to benefit from this . EWE TEL is now using its Telsis Ocean fastSCP to add intelligent call routing and interactive services to its 10 Siemens core network switches. The alternative would have been a switch upgrade costing around five times more than the Telsis solution.
We are very proud to be driving the services market in Germany. Other telcos simply cannot offer this level of services to their customers, says EWE TELs Thorsten Thews, leader of the companys intelligent networking group. Upgrading the switches themselves would have cost 500% more and would not have given us the flexibility of a Web interface for programming.
