Verint Systems has announced that the Societe de Transport de Montreal is deploying Verint’s Networked Video Solution to enhance passenger security and deter crime across the Montreal Metro system.

The Montreal Metro system provides underground access to the city of Montreal and its suburbs via four train lines averaging approximately 800,000 passenger trips every weekday. The Metro also provides access to Montreal’s ‘indoor city,’ a widespread underground network of pedestrian promenades that connects major downtown buildings.

The Verint Networked Video solution will enable Metro surveillance officers to enhance security of the underground rail system by centrally monitoring passenger platforms and certain parts of the track from the Metro’s central operations center. The solution will be delivered in conjunction with Verint partner Solutions Technologiques Enixum .

‘We are pleased to help the Montreal Metro to enhance security for its passengers and its infrastructure,‘ said Dan Bodner, President and CEO of Verint Systems Inc. ‘We have significant experience working with transportation authorities and are committed to delivering innovative networked video solutions to enhance security for the global transportation industry .’
