VoiceObjects announced at SpeechTEK 2005 the immediate availability of the latest version of VoiceObjects X5, the company’s award-winning voice applications management system.

The latest version has been enhanced to support Eclipse-based development environments, ScanSoft OpenSpeech DialogModules (OSDMs) and the Inference Grammar Trainer (IGT) from Inference Communications.

“The innovations in the newest version of VoiceObjects X5 broaden our base as a technology leader and a market leader in the field of voice application management systems,” said Karl-Heinz Land, CEO of VoiceObjects. “By integrating ScanSoft and Inference technologies, we have made it even easier to create highly sophisticated voice-driven telephone services. By supporting Eclipse, we’ve applied our open-standards product strategy to benefit the huge community of developers who are accustomed to working in that environment

New plug-ins in the VoiceObjects Studio component of VoiceObjects X5 connect all Eclipse-based integrated development environments, including IBM WebSphere Studio and SAP NetWeaver Studio, to the VoiceObjects Server component of VoiceObjects X5, allowing rapid, object-oriented development of advanced voice-powered applications.

The integration of ScanSoft OpenSpeech DialogModules into VoiceObjects X5 allows developers to easily embed preprogrammed modules into VoiceObjects-based applications. Each module encapsulates a standard dialog for performing a common task in a voice-driven application, such as collecting credit card or address information from a caller.

The Inference Grammar Trainer is an innovative product that generates grammars for voice applications. Its inclusion in VoiceObjects X5 allows developers to create grammars for natural-speech dialogs rapidly by training them with sample sentences. The latest version of VoiceObjects X5 offers many other new features, including automatic generation of project and storyboard documents in pdf and Excel formats.
