Garlands Call Centres announced that it has been awarded a contract to supply outsourced customer contact services to dot, the new mobile service developed exclusively for students. Dot was formally launched on 19th September.

The outsourced partnership will see Garlands handle a range of customer contact services for dot – including phone-based inbound and outbound customer services and collections, as well as full range of support functions. The Garlands’ team working on the dot contract are based out of Garlands’ Hartlepool Marina offices.

‘We chose Garlands because of its track record in delivering high quality services, its history in the mobile phone marketplace, and its all-round customer contact expertise’ explained Richard Sanderson, Head of Customer Services at Dot. ‘We look forward to building a successful partnership .’

The dot service, which runs on the Vodafone network, was launched across 90 pre-selected Universities in September. To sign up to the service, students simply select what phone, what bundle of ‘units’ and what contract length they require. Bundles can be as low as £20 per month and are available exclusively to students online and on campus via dedicated teams of Sales Managers and Representatives recruited directly from local student populations.

The dot service has been designed to be as user-friendly as possible. Subscribers can manage their accounts online and for service enquiries of any sort there’s a direct line straight to the dot Customer Services team at Garlands. And because dot bundles cover calls, texts, picture and video messaging, students avoid the problem of getting large monthly bills they hadn’t planned for.
