Talisma, a global provider of Multi-channel Customer Interaction Management (CIM) solutions, has formed a strategic partnership with Hotcourses Ltd, the UK’s publisher of guides and websites aimed at helping universities and colleges to recruit students. Working together, Hotcourses and Talisma have developed a tailored Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) solution based on the Talisma CIM platform for the UK higher education sector, enabling universities and colleges to effectively manage all communication with existing and prospective students though one simple unified system.

The SEM solution from Talisma and Hotcourses represents a strategic solution for higher education institutions to help them face the student recruitment and retention challenges in today’s market. This means allowing prospective students to communicate with their institution of choice though their preferred channel including: online self-service, SMS, phone, email and chat. All information is stored centrally, so it is easily accessible allowing universities and colleges to access data quickly for use in targeted marketing campaigns. This helps higher education establishments to build one-to-one relationships with their prospective and enrolled students thereby improving student retention, admission and providing colleges and universities the ability to deliver exceptional levels of customer service.

The solution also helps universities by providing students with instant access to information through an online portal allowing them to manage their interactions with the university or college, as well as find details on scholarships, bursaries, sports awards and accommodation, 24 hours a days, 365 days a year, helping them to make the right choice of university to attend.

“Over the next two years university and college fees are set to rise from £1,000 per year to £3,000 per year. Therefore, educational establishments will have to do more to attract and attain students. It will no longer suffice to simply send a prospectus, as students will want to know more about scholarships, bursaries, sports awards, discounts, accommodation, regional focuses and so on. This means that universities are really going to have to understand their prospective students in the same way that other high value suppliers, such as car manufacturers understand their markets. This is why we have teamed up with Talisma, to provide universities with a means of storing huge amounts of information about their prospects, combined with all sorts of clever ways of proactively marketing to them,” commented Mike Elms, Joint Chief Executive and Co-founder, Hotcourses Ltd .

The new system will also automate many processes surrounding admissions and recruiting, enrolment management, student services and alumni relations. This helps to cut overheads and increase staff productivity through the automation of back end processes and instant access to critical information.

“To be chosen by such a successful organisation as Hotcourses, who currently help over 3.7 million students each year, is a testament to the success of our higher-education CIM solution,” commented Craig Gordon, Managing Director of Talisma Europe. “Our CIM solution will enable Hotcourses customers to build one-to-one relationships with students, while simultaneously reducing recruiting, marketing, fulfilment costs, streamlining operational efficiency and increasing staff productivity
