2043 — Ericsson and Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong signed managed services contract

Ericsson and Hutchison Telecommunications have entered into a managed services agreement. Under the agreement, Ericsson is responsible for the management of telecom applications development and most of the back-end business support systems for Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong.
 

Peter Wong, Chief Executive Officer, Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong,says ‘By entering into this managed services partnership with Ericsson for the management of our telecom applications development in Hong Kong, we can now focus even more on our business of providing a convergence of communications, entertainment and information services to our customers. The partnership also further strengthens our market leadership on the development of 3G services in Hong Kong .’

Johan Adler, President, Ericsson Hong Kong underlines that dynamic and innovative operators such as Hutchison enter managed services partnerships in order to strengthen their focus on the consumers. ‘With this managed services contract we provide our extensive management expertise for Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong and also allow them to focus more on consumer services and quality.

This is the first managed services agreement Ericsson ever signed in Greater China. The new alliance demonstrates our commitment in the region and also optimizes our organizational structure to support continual growth in the managed services area in Hong Kong and Mainland China.

This Ericsson’s fifth managed services contract with the Hutchison Whampoa Group, adding Hong Kong to the successful joint operations in Australia, Italy, Scandinavia and UK.
