O2 UK has signed a two year managed service contract extension for the use of the Intervoice Messaging Gateway.

Using the Intervoice Messaging Gateway, O2 UK will continue to offer revenue generating services to its high value customers that promote call completion at home and abroad. In addition, the flexibility of the Intervoice Messaging Gateway will allow O2 UK to ensure the rapid deployment of Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNOs) and Joint Venture (JVs) services without them having to make an additional investment in their own infrastructure. The Intervoice Messaging Voicemail 901 and O2 Call Alert services, also provided by Intervoice, already give a unique, branded experience for O2’s existing MVNO and JV customers, as well as O2 customers.

“The Intervoice Messaging Gateway provides a vital component to our customer offering. Based on the excellent reliability and quality of service we have received, we were happy to extend the managed service for a further two years“ said Andrew Tobin, head of messaging, at O2 UK. “With customer loyalty at stake, we need the confidence that the technology behind our messaging services is robust enough to handle high volumes of traffic whilst ensuring an optimum user experience. The Intervoice Messaging Gateway solution allows our customers to provision their own services whenever they like, which means fewer calls into our contact center leading to both lower costs and more satisfied customers

“O2 UK’s voice messaging service is one of the core services that their customers rely on daily. Intervoice technology underpins the success of these services,” said Frank Sherlock, SVP and managing director, EMEA, at Intervoice. “The extension of our relationship with O2 UK continues to demonstrate our unique record of experience in providing flexible messaging solutions. With over 22,000 systems deployed worldwide with millions of mobile phone users served, O2 UK is part of a fast expanding group of operators turning to Intervoice’s network expertise and managed services
