Anthropics and Loquendo, an Italian speech technology company, announced that Loquendo Speech Technology is to power London-based Anthropics Technology’s multi-lingual FaceWave text to speech (TTS) mobile messaging service. With the integration of Loquendo TTS engine and Anthropics’ FaceWave, mobile phone users and content developers can create talking heads, from video or a still photo combined with text written in major languages.
Loquendo TTS provides lifelike voices for the dynamic data. The Italian business will also supply Anthropics with its speaker-independent automatic speech recognition (ASR) for use in its Anthropics FaceDirector.
Loquendo and Anthropics’ adherence to industry standards in developing their respective technologies has facilitated their working together to bring more voices in more languages to Anthropics’ FaceServer Text server software, while maintaining FaceWave messaging’s low-bandwidth requirement.
